After completing the MARI Level II Workshop, you now have all the cognitive information you need. You are well on your way to being an excellent MARI practitioner. Like most students, you will be consulting your manuals for awhile. This is part of the normal learning process and, as you know, there is much information to become familiar with. You are aware how important and helpful practice is and, truly, that is what you need to do now. Practice! You will understand more with each MARI and mandala you do. You will continue to be amazed by the ingenious, myriad ways issues can be evoked and resolved by this process.
Requirements
1. Complete FIVE additional mandala / MARI sessions.
2. Number and keep each session clearly separate; keep signed release forms- this will protect you. Use a combination of your last name, date, and A, B, C, D, E for each respective client. Only you and the evaluator will know the name of the person corresponding to the code.
For example: Judy Floobawitz’s submission for her client, Bill Screamymeemie, assessed on October 15, 2007 will make him Floob101507A, hereby referred to as “A” in her summary. Jan Flabbybottom assessed on October 18, 2007 will be Floob101807B, referred to as “B”, and so on. In this way, no one but the practitioner will ever know the incredibly insane names that go with the material! However, should the reviewer or MARI Resources ever need more info concerning a client, we can contact the practitioner and she can follow up via her records. HIPPA rules mandate that the personally identifying info (i.e., Release Form) be kept in a physically separate (preferably locked) location from the content. Be Forewarned and Diligent in this regard. Do let Beth know if the client will allow us to use the MARI-Mandala combination for teaching and research! We endeavor to preserve anonymity.
The Evaluator shall keep her copies of the release forms in a secure location separate from the content and mandalas.
3. Record information for each session on the Great Round scorepad.
Be sure to include:
Stage numbers
Symbol card letters
Color names and numbers!
4. Include all pertinent information for each session - including:
· A brief history of the subject (demographic info and any details that may impact the reading interpretation)
· Presenting problem/issue, if any
· Rejected card(s) and the color (s) that make better (feel free to include the client’s response to the rejected cards, include comments/quotes)
· Guidance cards and information (and whether the client felt the guidance was accurate, further illuminated the issue, etc.)
· Changes of color or symbol cards, if any (and client response)
· 3-5 page typed write up that synthesizes the information and your feedback for the session(s). Submit a copy of the Great Round page and COLOR copy of the mandala. Keep all original information.
SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
NOTE: The mandala may be a digital photo that you can just email directly to Beth- It is recommended that you take several pictures (both with flash and without) at high resolution so that it can be seen in full, true color on the computer screen.
· Signed and completed release form from subject
5. Send to a teacher (listed on the web site) who is new to you. We encourage you to work with as many different teachers as possible. Please check with the teacher before sending you work to her.
6. Send all five MARI mandala write-ups at the same time.
7. Include a check for $125.00 payable to Mari Creative Resources. Send to Mari Creative Resources.
8. Include your phone number, email address and an appropriate time to talk. Feedback will be done via the phone, and typically takes about 1.5 to 2 fun-filled hours, and usually takes place within 2 weeks of the teacher receiving the packet. She will call/email you upon receipt of the packet, and set up a time then.
9. Upon successful completion of the above items, you will receive a MARI PRACTITIONER CERTIFICATE in the envelope you included. Please clearly indicate how you would like your name to appear on the certificate.
10. You will be required to complete ongoing education modules and attend peer practicums in order to be eligible for continued Practitioner Standing. These requirements will be legislated Dr. Shelley Takei, and will be expressed, in writing, no later than 6 months prior to the certificate renewal date. Most of these modules will be CEU-bearing opportunities.
The MARI PRACTITIONER CERTIFICATE certifies you as a MARI Practitioner until the stated renewal date. If you are a licensed or certified Mental Health professional, you can include MARI and mandala assessments as a part of your therapeutic sessions until the time of the renewal date. Laws requiring the ethical use of the instrument as a therapeutic and counseling modality vary from state-to-state and such requirements must also be met. MARI Resources, MARI Creative Resources and MARI Institute cannot be held liable for misuse of the Instrument, including uses outside of the purview of professional licensing and state laws.
